Sorry I mean the design of the injector utilizes piezo crystal stacks within the injector body, they are very fragile and units ending in 3 are especially, to be frank, crap. The software update is for cars fitted with injectors ending in 3, if yours has these then it will help but the real cure is a replacement set of injectors I'm afraid.
After some digging I’ve discovered Ford released a technical service bulletin for injectors in the 1.8 duratorq tdci engine in my vehicle, just booked in with them to have the PCM updated. Quoted 60 quid, I’ll let you know how I get on
